I used the program for a short time about 3 months ago and had some problems. For one thing I was unable to access 'HELP' files in any other application. Finally had to uninstall the program which returned my machine to normal.

I think you'll get all the help you need from the nice folks there. I found a few flaws in the program for my purposes and decided it wasn't right for me, but it has some great features.

Got mine a couple months ago and am somewhat dissapointed. The Help menu won't work for me either in addition to several other problems. I uninstalled and re-installed three times as well as e-mailed them. Got a CD with "fixes" on it which didn't fix much. It won't calculate some loads unless the bullet length info is in the bullet data base; put the data in myself and still no calculation.\

What it does execute I really like. Unfortunately, it only works on about 1/2 of the calibers/bullets I load for.

Evening gentlemen,
Unhappy customers are somthing we can't tolerate, so let's see what we can do to eliminate the problems.
Mark's problem is "most probably" a conflict with an existing program on his PC and we have been working with him in an effort to duplicate the symptoms so that they can be eliminated. We don't give up easy.
The Help problem that has been cited twice here is a DLL file that is "registered" in the Microsoft registry and it should not be. There is a one line command that can be executed from the command prompt to eliminate that problem. I can't recall more than a couple of reports of that particular problem and all of the inquiry and info emails come to me. I'll dig through our Help Desk files and find the command for that. If you are experiencing this problem, email me and I'll email you back the fix.
On the problem of not calculating loads unless the bullet length is in the database... we don't know all of the bullet lengths that are out there. In fact, a lot of the bullet manufacturers themselves don't have that data available to share with us. If we don't know, we leave the field blank. If you have the bullet in your hand, measure it and enter the value in the load calculating module. Every field in that module can be edited. The module needs the bullet length, OAL and case length in order to determine the seating depth and displacement. That determines the amount of case capacity remaining for the powder column.
Some cartridges don't compute at all. That's correct. The calculations of low pressure, low capacity cases are not accurate enough, at present, to give you a firm span of loads. Rather than giving you calculated data that we don't trust and then asking you to insert a fudge factor, we just don't calculate it. No data is better than bum data.
Slightly longer range solutions for the load calculation program are nearer than you may think. We have been working on a firm solution to the low capacity, low pressure load problem for many months and have the solution. We just need some more time to work with the powders currently available before sending out the new module as another free update.
Last item and I'll shut up. The update fix that didn't fix anything. Actually, it fixed quite a few things. Otherwise, we wouldn't have gone to the trouble of making and distributing it. AccuLoad is a feature rich program that can be used for quite some time before you have touched on all of the things it can do. Perhaps the fixes were on features you had yet to try. We certainly hope so.
Not a day goes by without us making additions to AccuLoad, or checking the data, or correcting my spelling (could be a full time job!), or doing something to make it a better product. If it isn't doing what you want it to do, let us know. We can't make it exactly what you want, unless you tell us.
Regards,
Ed
