I lucked into 10 pounds of Reloader 19 for half price. Wondering what some of the best uses for reloader 19. I was thinking 30-06, 6.5x55, 8mm-06ai, 270 win. What are some of your experiences with these and others with rl 19?

In 240 Wby, 0.5 moa at 200 yards. In 340 Wby, a little larger at 0.65 moa at 200 yards.

It’s decent in a number of heavier loadings of mid bore rounds. I’ve used it with .30-06, .300 win mag, 6.5 rem mag, and .330 Dakota.

It's one of my favorite powders in the 30-06 with 180 gr. bullets, delivering both accuracy and velocity.

I have used it for .338 Win, .340 Wby, .338 Lapua and 7mm STW. Look at it for anything RL-22 is good far, slightly faster but real close. Good Shooting.

Hi Mauser 222,

Work up to 59 grains of RL 19 with 130 grain GameKings in your .270 Win, and you should become surprised at spectacular results. It performs superbly in both of my .270 Win rifles. Both of my .270 Win rifles have 22" barrels. Velocity is better than 3100 FPS. Accuracy is 3 holes touching each other at a hundred yards. My caveat is to start around 56 grains and work up. Neither of my rifles show any indication of excessive pressure with this load. After I use my H-4831, I'll probably switch to RL-19.

I'm sure RL-19 will perform well in your other cartridges, especially your '06.

BTW, 150 grain Partitions and a max load of RL-22 will choron at 3000 FPS with no sign of pressure and, again, out of both of my .270 Win rifles with 22" barrels.

From memory alone, RL-22 is Norma's MRP, and RL-19 is Norma's 204. I believe Norma manufactures both powders for Alliant, but I might be wrong...again ;-)

RL-19 is excellent power.

Best of luck to you

I like Reloader 19. It may not be the fastest powder, but it has proven accurate, reliable, and repeatable in several cartridges in our stable - .257 Roberts, 6.5x55, .300WSM, and .338 Winchester. It's nice to have one powder for our main hunting rifles.

I love it in my .338 Win with a 225 gr.accubond at 2913 FPS, an awesome elk killer..Its a dandy in the 7x57, 30-06, 8mm-06 Ackley but its been replaced here with CFE223, Its a great powder with a wide spectrum. If someone was a shutin in Alaska it would be great one powder for all your guns..Id hate that but it would work well enough..

I would love to get that velocity, Ray, but does any manual list it? My 2018 Alliant book pegs out at 74.7 grains for 2881 fps with the Accubond, not that I've got anywhere near it.

I don't use Reloading books to load my ammo as they have a margin of safty not based on anything but law suits...

Try another 1.5 grs of RL-19 if you would love to get my velocity in your .338 ,that's not max in my rifle but close..I have tried 77 and 78 but got some pressure and my accuracy was at 76 grs. for 2913, not much beyond your grainage. in fact your getting a bit perinoid over 32 FPS! rotflmo

R19 burn rate is just a little slower than the 4350's. It is pretty versatile

I think that is close to the mark.

In a 270 with 150 grain bullets and 22" FWeight and 300 Winchester with 180s and 24" I got the highest velocities I have ever had.

It is very close to Re 22 which is like H4831.

I have found in general the velocity with top accuracy loads with both Re 19 and 22 and also Re 15 to be up to 100f/s faster than powders like 4350 and 4831 and 4064. Not always but very often.
