foam filler?

Hi guys, I'm getting ready to start reloading .470's and I need some clarification on the foam filler.

1. Where does one get it - is this just plain old foam material?

2. Sounds stupid I know but I want to confirm the filler goes between the powder and the bullet, correct?

Thanks for entertaining these questions.

Hey Snake,

I used 3/8" styrofoam from the hobby store. That's what Butch Searcy recommended be used in my 470. It seemed to work well and no strange residues were detected in thes barrels. Michaels carries it in sheets that measure about 12"x36". What make is your 470?

Good Hunting,

Thanks Andy - that's a big help.

It's a merkel and I really like it. Shot a nice buffalo with it last year and hope to do the same next year - I'm headed to Zimbabwe again.

I appreciate the info...

Mike
