Trying to work up a 250 gr. load for my Whelen. It's my first in this caliber. Have been told to start with imr4064. Input? Thanks in advance. Big Grin

I like RL-15, about 55 grains with Speer's 250 grain bullet in mine. Good accuracy and running right at 2500 fps. Have gone with heavier loads to get to 2600 fps but the groups opened up so backed off.

Great cartridge!

I've been using H-380 with very tight groups, not sure how fast they are going yet.

IMR4064 is as good as any to try with a 250gr bullet. Reloader 15 is also very good.

But with the Hornady RN of the same weight, I've found AA2495 to yield 100fps more speed with the same accuracy in my magna-ported Rem 7600.

Thanks for info guys. And I use a LOT of AA2495 in my .45-70s, so will give it a try as well. Thanks!
