Jeffe,
Do yourself a favor and try some 350gr. North Fork bullets.
They have become my "go to" all around bullet.
Better trajectory than some of the 400-500 round nose or flat bullets. Good expansion and excellent penetration.

Try 48-52 gr of H-4198.

They are fairly expensive. If you ever want to try some, I'll split the cost of a 50 ct box with you.

Skipper M.

You also might want to eyeball a 400gr. Barnes semi-spitzer. Another good round!

Cant comment on HEF but 49 grs of H4198,rem case, cci prime,is pushing 350 gr. hornady FN at 2050 out of my 22" marlin with great acuraccy and cork gun recoil. It'll go thru a few 2" saplings straight to the target.

Using my Buff Classic, cci primers and IMR 4064 I get very good groups. 58-60 grs for the 300 JHP and 54-56 grs for the 405FN. My best group for 405 lead is 12.5 Unique. I think these will work fairly well in a shortened Handi as well. I have tried them in my 450 Ultra with good results also. Good luck.
