I just bought a new old rifle and although I've loaded for the 8mmJS bore, I'm having trouble finding a good source for the older J bore ammo. I noticed Woodleigh was selling some 200gr softpoints, however I was hoping to go a bit lighter for deer. Thanks! "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski

You can size down .323 using a Lee bullet sizing die & base punch. Lee will cusotm make you one for something like $25. I size down .429/300gr pistol bullets for plinkers in my 404jeffery (.423). Imperial sizing wax & go slow. The Hawk is an adequate bullet, abit pricey though. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

First thing is check your bore by slugging it. I slugged a Kar 88 carbine. Those were originally made for the J bore ammo. The little Kar checked .3205. With moderate loads it would easily shoot the .321 bullets made for the .32 Winchester Special. I have read of several other reports of the GEW 88s having .320 to .3205 bores.

Hey thanks for the help! I slugged the bore and it came out to .3185. Actually a gunsmith buddy of mine loaded up some rounds for me and they were shooting quite well (1.5@100yards) so it's good. Think I may stick with Woodleigh and Hawk. But again thanks for the help and good shooting to ya'll! "Molotov Cocktails don't leave fingerprints" -Dr. Ski
