I am looking for pet loads for my 15 XP-100 chambered in .7mmBR. Anyone else have this cartridge? Just starting to work-up some loads and was wondering if anyone could steer me in the right direction. Any information will be deeply appreciated. I have previously requested this on other sites in the past, so some of you have seen this. I think this site holds extremely knowledgeable members, and I am confident
that the data provided will be excellent. Thank you of your time and consideration in this matter.

Regards,
Bill

Bill-
In several XPs in 7BR I have owned, 32 grains of H-335 under a 120 grain Ballistic Tip (R/R case and Rem 7 1/2 primers) gave wonderful accuracy. Velocity in my current 7BR is 2412 fps.

The load is near-max, so approach with care.

My 7 BR is in a 26" barreled rifle. I use it to shoot silhouettes with. AA 2460 works well with 130 gr bullets and I use H380 with the 168 grainers.

I'm unable to find my data. I used 120 gr single shot pistol bullets. The best was the 120 gr "X" bullets. One nice whitetail doe dropped within six feet of where she was struck. I used some bargain priced Remington bullets for informal targets. They would not expand much from the pistol barrel velocities. The powder I used was mostly Varget. I can't find that notebook for precise data. If you cast bullets you might try the silhouette style flat points. Good luck! Pakrat.

Bill,

This is a load a friend gave me, but I haven't tried it, yet. 17.0 of H4227 topped with buffer, WSR primer and RCBS Shilouette 145 GC bullet in an R-P case. In his XP it's good for just over 1800FPS, 1.5 (no, not 15) standard deveation and shoots half-MOA. It's a creampuff load, but has plenty of umph for the rams. TM is .82. I am using a similar load in my 7TCU and it's at least as good as any jacketed load I ever tried. As soon as my XP is rebarrelled, I'll be trying it.

Bill, I have no idea what you intend to use your 7mm BR for (hunting, target, silhouettes, etc.) but I will list a few loads that proved to work well in my XP-100.
I use mine for silhouette competition only, so maybe these won't help you much.

30 grains 748 / Horn 139BT / 2021 fps
29 grains 748 / Horn 154SP / 1994 fps

30 grains H4895/ Horn 120SP / 2228 fps
28 grains H4895/ Horn 139BT / 2035 fps
27 grains H4895/ Horn 154SP / 1922 fps

30 grains H 335 /Sierra 150MK / 2054 fps
28 grains N 135 /Sierra 150MK / 2019 fps

The last two listed are my favorites for competition, though I shot 748 in this gun for a long time.

Hope this helps, R Flowers

Thanks to all for the leads.
I guess I must not be doing anything wrong then. I was trying to find a powder that could burn quick enough in the 15" barrel and not just have a flame thrower. But it must be the nature of the beast then. I'll continue the way I was going.
Thanks again.
