What's the Fastest and easiest way to remove the primer crimp on millitary brass

I've tried a couple different methods and by far the best way I've tried is with the RCBS Swager. It preps the pockets more consistantly than reaming them and works pretty quickly.
Just be sure and not adjust the stem down too far because it WILL bend if you aren't careful. Fortunately RCBS customer service is excellent.... ........DJ

I have both the RCBS swager and the Dillon swager.
Hands down the Dillon swager beats the RCBS

Not saying the RCBS swager dosn't work well .
Just the Dillon Swager is faster and easyer to use .
But at $81.95 it is at least 2X the cost of the RCBS swager , but IMO if you have more than 100 cases to do well worth it

Another vote for the Dillon.
I have tried various cutters and press mounted swagers. None of them can come close to the speed and ease of the Dillon. If you have large volumes of military brass to prep, the Dillon is worth the money and then some!

Not to sound like a jerk but the fastest way is drop the cases into the trash. You can buy huge lots of matching headstamp commercial brass on EBAY at excellent prices. I recommend this because I once injured my elbow removing the crimp from a large lot of military 223 brass. It took a year to quit bothering me. You can buy a life time supply of brass for the cost of a swager.

The RCBS tool is junk.

I have the Dillon 600 super swage and it is great.



But I now think it is easier to just try to prime all the brass, and a piece will not prime one in ten times, toss it.

If you can get .223 brass for a penny or three, and your time is worth more than three cents a second, then do not remove the swage.

I dont want to sound like a jerk or a broken record . So sorry but I agree with ireload2 and tnekkcc , dump it.
223 brass is easy to find and cheap..

24kilo, how much brass do you have? I got a hold of 7K military .223 rds and got the dillon and will never regret it. I will hopefully get around the same amount of 9mm/.45 brass soon. It has all ready paid for itself. And by the way, to remove any bias, I am pretty much a LEE man.

How about a quick twist with a neck chamfer tool?

With surplus military brass prep'ed from Cabelas for about $35.00 per thousand...

and commercial range brass ( Rem and Winchester) available from Southern Belle Brass at $44.00 per thousand, on the door step....
