Grafs has some, probably about the cheapest factory brass you can come by. The quality is probably not as good as necked-up and fireformed Lapua .220 Russian, or even the Norma 6mm PPC brass, which occasionally becomes available. Sako 6mm PPC brass should also be available - although it is easily as expensive as Norma, and probably not of the same quality.

If you are patient, Dakota/Nesika supposedly has ordered a bunch of Lapua 6mm PPC brass (not .220 Russian), with the purpose of standardizing the cartridge, which has otherwise (with a single exception) been a wildcat until now. The exception: the attempt to standardize the 6mm PPC-USA by Sako some years back. Nobody knows exactly what dimensions Dakota intends to use for their standardized PPC, but if you are building, it might be worth waiting to get your chamber cut with a "standard" reamer.

Barring that, you have to think hard about what brass you can get, intend to use, and whether you want to neck turn or not?? From the way you posed your question, it seems likely you were not intending to turn. In that case, you have to make sure you get a reamer that will allow the use of the brass you choose unturned.

If you want to know more about the 6mm PPC, go to www.benchrest.com. These guys build PPCs all the time, although these are almost exclusively built with tight (e.g. .262") necks. There is a ton of information available, though.

P.S I just checked the Grafs website, and it seems they are currently not stocking their 6mm PPC brass any more. That is sad. They were otherwise a cheap source.

The new Lapua/Dakota stuff will be great.
I have used both factory Sako brass and Norma brass with no complaints at all. this stuff lasts through fifteen reloads without any problems.

Bruno currently hopes to be able to ship Norma 6mm PPC brass sometime in the new year - around February, or so. I don't believe they have any in stock, at least they did not when I talked to them about 1-2 weeks ago.

Also, one can die form, fire form, turn neck, etc 7.62x39mm brass into 6mm ppc.

The Redding form dies for this process are cheaper than the RCBS dies:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7198400132&rd

The Remington [RP] 7.62x39mm brass was small primer, they no longer make that size. The Winchester 7.62x39mm brass is large primer.

Who cares?
The extractor groove is ~.366", which with a large primer pocket makes this very weak brass. Not as bad as 10mm pistol brass with large primer, .336" groove, and longer extractor groove, but the Winx39 brass IS weak.

Brent, I have bought 6mm PPC brass from Grafs before. But as far as I could see, they don't list it on their website anymore?? Did you order on-line, or did you phone up??

The 6mm PPC brass I got from Grafs was anything but shiney, in fact pretty dull and almost dirty looking. But it was of decent quality, and although not as good as Lapua brass, it was possible to get a reasonable amount of cases from a batch - i.e. not too many rejects.

At the time I bought, Grafs was marketing two "grades" of 6mm PPC brass: "competition" and "varmint". I never got to try the "varmint", but later the "competition" grade disappeared from their website, and then all 6mm PPC brass. I shall be glad if they have another batch available, the brass was reasonably priced and can be shot in Sako factory chambers without turning. That is not always the case for necked-up Lapua .220 Russian.
