I mistakenly purchased a can of VV 540 at a gunshow. I was in a hurry and thought it was VV 560.

In looking through loading manuals, I can't seem to find any caliber in which this would be a good powder choice.

I am loading 222, 223, 22-250, 243, 7-08, 280, 308, 30-06, 300 Win, 338, 375

Any ideas?

W540 is a shotgun powder used in hi-velocity field loads. It is quite similar to the Hodgdon HS5 powder in performance.

I think that safarihunter is talking about Vihtavuori N540 powder; here are some reloading data:

N540 is the double base correspondent of the N140. I guess it could be a good choice for 223, 308 and 375 (H&H)
