What is your favorite load for the .223 Remington for use in an AR, in this case a S&W MP-15 Jim "Bwana Umfundi" NRA

My plinking load is 27.5gr of CFE with 50gr Midway Dogtown bullets and CCI BR4 primers. I also have a similar load with 55gr Nosler Varmageddon bullets. My hunting load is 27gr of CFE with a 55gr TSX or 24.7gr of H4895 with the same bullet. I have one AR15 that prefers Varget over the CFE or H4895 and either 25gr or 25.5gr seems to be the magic load.

pick your load - there are thousands of favorites. 223 is not a picky round start with what buolet you like and match a powder to it

Depends on the AR. I have three. I don't have exact charge weights in my head at the moment. Bullet weights under 62gr TAC or H335. In a pinch I use Varget if I don't have H335 or TAC. Bullet weights over 62gr, 16" mid-length likes Varget. 20" rifle length likes RL-15. About 95% of my shooting is done with Hornady 55gr FMJ and TAC/H335. That's blasting ammo. The other load I use is 69gr SMK and Varget for my 16" mid-length.
