Inline seater dies?

I am reloading for a 416 Weatherby. I have purchased nearly all the equipment to get started and now I am
reading alot just for fun and to learn. I have read lots of good things about inline seating dies and how they
help make more concentric cartridges. Problem is that in a 416 Wby none of the big name mfgs. (Redding, Forster,RCBS, etc) make their inline style dies.

So, my questions are: 1. In a large round like the 416 will a true inline seater die make that much difference? and 2. Where would I get one?

I have found that the following two companies make inline dies for a reasonable price for a 416:

www.gmwvickerman.com
www.meachamrifles.com

Any of you guys familiar with these fellows?

Thanks for your help,
Wes

Unless your shooting the 416 in competition from a rest it will not matter. Even if the subject cartridge was smaller and more common it's best to prevent bullets from being seated wrong. This is done by brass selection and minimal working of the necks.

It's good that you want to do it the best way. I would purse a FL "S" type (bushing) die and a Lee Factory crimp die. These may be custom orders?

Savage99,

Yes, they would be custom orders.

Are you familiar with either the Vickerman or
Meacham dies that I linked to above?

Thanks,
Wes

Not that familar DWS.

The straight line die might require a arbor press and it might not crimp the neck into a candelure on the bullet. On DGR guns function rules and not 1/2 MOA and a good tight neck fit and even a crimp might insure reliability.

Thus a conventional die set might just be fine for most 416's with full loads. You don't want the bullets moving in the necks from recoil.

If I were ordering up dies for a 416 I would get a three die set from RCBS and a "M" die from Lyman to bell the necks. The M die is for cast bullet shooting.
