how much can I save on a dillon?

I went to a show recently where they had dillon equipment for sale, and almost bought a RL550. They had a "sale" going on where I got some free accessories or something, and maybe saved a little over catalog price. Then I would have had to pay drop shipping charges cause they sold the only 550 they brought to the show.
Can I expect to save over prices in the Dillon catalog, and if so how much? Is there any wiggle room for dealers or not?

I looked into becoming a dealer a few years ago and 10% off list is all they offered. They don't leave much for dealers.

I know one guy who decided to become a distributor just to be one. The idea was to get his stuff a bit cheaper. In order to do it he has to maintain a certain level of orders which is not that easy once everyone he knows has a Dillon press.

He places an order every couple of months. By the time it arrives with shipping added it is almost the same price as catalog without shipping.

BTW, the price discount only applies to Dillon brand name stuff from what I hear, and not to items manufactured by someone else and sold in the catalog. Could be wrong about that one, but it is what I have been told.

Sales tax vs. shipping. The universal question!

Either way, you'll be happy with Dillon equipment. It's not the cheapest, but you'll never be sorry you bought it. (If you are, email me and I'll take it off your hands!)
