I am getting ready to load some new bullets I got. They are for 40S&W 180 grain Total Metal Jacket. They are pulled bullets and I do not know the brand name (was told they are like the Sierra TMJ.

I am using Power Pistol.

My Lyman book shows a Full Metal Jacket load with starting load at 6.0 grains and max load at 6.7 grains.

Is jacketed data ok? Do I need to reduce the load since the bullets I'm using are Total Metal Jacket?

My knowledge about pistols is minute but I understand that the difference between FMJ and TMJ is the total metal jacket also covers the back of the bullet. As far as shooting them goes, I can't see where they'd be any different.

Aim for the exit hole
