Bartsche ; I don't here is all I've seen about it .
I picked up some for the Rem mag and as yet to load any of it . To be real honest I can't remember what I picked up the other type for ?.
Maybe for the .223 or .308 or even the 06 ?.
To many other powders to evaluate , You know that drill .

Hope it helps . archer

I'm working on both in my 30-06 AI. So far my rifle likes 62.2gr of DP 86 with 180gr Partitions and Sierra Pro Hunters. Velocity is around 2900fps, Rem 700, 22 inch barrel. The Nosler's are averaging just over 1 inch at 100 while the Sierra's are just under 1 inch. I'm running out of time, hunting season starts on Nov 3. I'm done testing loads till Dec. These will have to do for now.

clapThanks guys thumb So far everything three of us have tried them in is very positive. The 2900 fps with the 180 gr. bullet in the 06 IMP is certainly impressive. OK; go put some meat on the table. fishingroger

First of all, thanks to bartsche for the lead on DP 86. I just wish I had bought more. Clean burning, easy to work with.

In My 300 Win. Mag. 75 grains of DP 86 with a 180 Nos. Part. equals my former pet load of 72 gr. of IMR 4350. With my bullets seated just short of the lands the load fills the case.

In My 243, 43 gr. of DP 86 with the 100 gr. Rem. reproduces the Remington Factory load.

My 243 hunting load was a 90 gr. Barnes XFB, on top of 44 gr of IMR 4350. I have reproduced that with slightly better accuracy with 45 gr. of the DP 86.

My son's 300 Ultra Mag is next.

Just remember when you find something you like, buy two. Because when the first is gone, they will have quit making it.

Of course, sometimes two still ain't enough.

Arniet! waveIf it fits in your budget get some of the DP 85 before it is gone. I like it better than any of the 4350s. Once it is gone it is adios bye-bye for ever. beerroger
