I'm hoping someone with a Speer reloading manual can tell me what the listed max load is for H4831 in a 6.5x55 using 140 gr. spitzer.

FYI. The Lee Loading Guide shows 47gr. H4831 2586fps. at a pressure of 50667psi. roger

They didn't list H 4831 back then only IMR . Also N 205 H 450 IMR 4350 H 380 IMR 4064 IMR 4320

and SR 4759 . All that for a Swede 6.5 X 55 mm .

I hate to be a pest, but can you re-check? Those numbers seem a little light.

swheeler's numbers are correct for 140gr in Speer #14, although it is the short cut version of H4831.

No listing for H4831 in Speer #13.

From everything I have read H4831 and H4831SC data (loads) are interchangeable.

Also, you can check the Hodgdon web site for current maximum load values.

Hogdon's website lists a max. load of 47 grains of H4831 behind a Speer 140 spitzer in 6.5x55 for a pressure of 45,700 cup. I wonder why the listed max is so much lower in the Speer manual
