I just picked up a bunch of brass marked K P in 7.62x39. Does anybody know who or what K P brass is. The guy I bought it from calls it Lapua. Says it's the same thing. Looks identical to Lapua. Shoots great and the price was right. Just wanted to know a bit more about it.

K-P stands for Kaltron Pettibone. They are the importer for all Lapua products. KP had Lapua put their name on some 7.62X39 brass about 10 years ago. I have some as well. I don't recall why their name is on it.

That brass was sold thru Midway and it was made by Laupa. I used it to make 6ppc and I also had a 7.62x39 bolt action rifle build and use that brass.

I shoot it, and I love it. Was $9.99/100 back then... wish I had brought more!
