Just got a brass tumbler for Christmas, realy put a shine on some old brass. Can these be used to take the sizing lube off of sized cases?

I wipe the lube off the cases with a shop towel and then chuck them back in the tumbler for 10minutes or so. Works fine.

Yes, removing the lube from cases is actually a much more functional use of the tumbler than the cosmetic polishing of the brass.

Corn cob media will absorb a lot of case lube before it "gives up the ghost". It can be rejuvinated a number of times with an additive like Lyman's or Flitz. If you can find some old-fashioned abrasive car polish, that also works well as a tumbling media additive and is, of course, much cheaper. Or toss a little auto polishing compound from a can into the media and turn the tumbler on and let it mix thoroughly before adding the brass.

True, your media will "wear out" more quickly when scrubbing lubricated cases, but it is well worth it to save the drudgery of trying to manually clean lube off of cases (and much more effective, to boot). Have fun.

Great, Thanks for the replys. I shoot alot so not having to give each case individual attention with soap and water will be of great benefit.
