I guess here's a pretty good explanation:

Rimfire vs Centerfire

You can't reprime them........

well.....technically that's correct.....the case and primer are the same and you can't reprime them but theoretically you could buy new cases already primed.....

Here's the real reason.....you can buy these rounds yet today for $.02 each

Given that reloading them means a new primed case, powder, and bullets and equipment and time to do so.....who would want to?

We can buy some of the most accurate long rifles in the world for a few pennies more and I've shot regular Winchester hollow points into such small groups at 30 yards that I couldn't believe it. The answer is simply...there is no market for it

There are really hardcore guys who actually do reload .22 rimfire cases. They have the time, the money, the desire and their kids are all grown and moved away. When these four things fall into place, you can do many things once thought to be impossible.

If you have enough time to to fool with reloading rimfires.....you need a life.

PS the stupidest question ever asked is actually the question that isn't asked and needlessly harms someone as a direct result of not being asked.

Hello rootbeer,

Be careful with this one. The kids, especially daughters have a tendency to come back home on occasion, only this time they're dragging the litle ones behind them. I planned well financially, retired, made good decisions all along the way. Unfortunately some of the kids didn't !! Best wishes.

22 hornet seating die works, but your right it isn't worth it.

My Grandfather knew a couple gentleman that reloaded rimfires for the rifles they hunted with, both of which were in .56 Spencer.

They were old when he knew them and boy do I wish someone had thought to right down the stories they were known to tell of being "There" and it weren't no tall tale or stretching of the truth.

When they invent a time machine, I will be first in line. jump
