Built a Palmetto Armory 5.56 with the 16" barrel.
Can who has run these shells over their graph to see what you get vs what is listed?

Looking for at 55 gr listed at 3240 ft/sec
and 5.56 shooting the 62 grain green tip at 3020 listed and what you got when you ran them across your graph.

Thanks,

Jim

Send me 500 of each and I well test them for you.

Still might not be what you well get out of your rifle so send that to me also.

Better yet spend a hundred dollars or so and buy your own chronograph.

Yes I am being a smart alex but with the low price of chronographs today the is no reason a shooter should not own one.

I ran a supposedly 3200 ft/sec AR 556 load over a chronograph once and it was 2650 ft/sec

Out of a 16" barrel you can expect about a 400 fps decrease over the advertise speeds

p dog I have one but it is at my farm and I am not able to get up there. You are forgiven If it makes you feel better have at it.

I am just trying to get some Ideas on the rounds before I get there. I have chance to go hunt and fish on 12000 acres and hog hunt next week.

I appreciate the help on velocities from you other gentlemen till I can get up to the farm and do my research.

Thanks a bunch but I was supposed to go up and ck cows on my 22 acres South of MF and handle the problem there. I have a quick 100 there for just cking vel and sighting in so I can print out a chart. Had some stuff come up and not able but tied up till Monday.

Guess I will just shoot it in at where I will be staying off the main ranch. My big question was the drop factor for the short barrel.

Thanks again I do appreciate the offer.

Thanks Jim
