I e-mailed Hornady sometime back about them making .423" bullets because the rumour had been going around they were going to make them. It took over a month to get a reply but here is the text of the e-mails sent and received. I just thought it might interest us .404 shooters. ------------------------------------------------ From: MacLeod, William Sent: Thu 5/18/2006 7:26 AM To: Webmaster Subject: .423" Bullets Dear Sir; I have heard rumor that Hornady will be making .423" diameter bullets suitable for the .404 Jeffrey. Is there any plans for doing this? It would be a great help for those who have had rifles built in this caliber as well as those who have or will be purchasing the CZ550 Magnum in this caliber. Thank you for your time and consideration. Respectfully yours, Bill MacLeod 440 Pepper St., NE Palm Bay, FL 32907 From: Webmaster [mailto:Webmaster@hornady.com] Sent: Saturday, July 08, 2006 12:19 PM To: Mr. MacLeod Subject: RE: .423" Bullets We don't have anything available at this particular point in time. We are very interested in the dangerous game market, and aim to offer a variety of products now and in the future. Look for product introductions for 2007. As for this particular bullet, I anticipate we'll make it, but I'm not sure that it will be an '07 product though. Hornady Customer Service "I ask, sir, what is the Militia? It is the whole people. I think that Ruger's introduction of the 375 Ruger might be the start of their step into the Africa market. I only hope that that means a new line of 40+ caliber chamberings and components.
