7-30 Waters,
Like Leftoverdj, I also use the surplus version of AA-1680 which is WC-680. I have used it for cast and jacketed bullets for .223, 270, 30-30, 357, 44, and the 445. Velocity was always acceptable, but I have never been able to get the accuracy that Accurate Arms indicates for this powderespecially for the 445 Super Magnum. XMP-5744 has always produce better accuracy where it and WC-680 could be used. Good-luckBCB

z1r, I shoot two very different 7.62's; one a custom Sako Vixen, the other a short Colt Ar platform. The loads which I have chronographed are from the Sako which has a 21" Wiseman Barrel. Use a commercial proper reference source and always work up in your own rifle. The Colt will not handle the Sako's loads, as a for instance. Nuff said.

110 Sierra 27 grs R-P cases F205M 2.2" 2481 ft/sec SD 21

125 Remington Factory 2394 SD 8

125 Speer TNT 26 gr Lapua F210M 2.2" 2344 ft/sec SD 7
Have been as high as 28 grs for 2481 SD 16 2.25 COL

150 Nosler BT 25.5 gr VV130 Lapua F210M 2150ft/sec SD 13

150 BT 25.5 AA 1680 Lapua F210M 2284 ft/sec SD 3
This is the most accurate load as well, under .5 MOA @200yds

Killed several whitetail deer here at home and a large mountain lion in B.C. with this rifle. The round is under estimated for normal hunting ranges, i.e., under 200 yards.
This of course is my humble opinion.

My best luck in the Maximum was with WW-296 years ago. Especially liked the Speer 180 gr. This was a Ruger #1 originally in .357 Mag... it later became the most accurate .358 Winchester. Never should have sold that one. Now as to AA-1680 I can't live with out it for my Hornet and my 7.62X39, so go figure. Go shooting where ever.
