I want to bed the stock and float the barrel and all that on my 30-06 (Parker/Hale circa 197?) WHO has a good set of instructions, on how to do this. I am confident I have the skill to do it right, but I want to have some step by step procedures so I make sure I do it right.

Thanks again

I think the bedding kit comes with instructions? It's kind of a hands-on, practise makes perfect kind of thing anyway. Just don't, don't, don't forget release agent on ALL parts and plug any holes with modeling clay.

I just want to add emphisis to Darly's statement about the release agent, don't forget it and use enough. You will know if you didn't put enough on when its dry and too late.

The single problem in bedding the Parker Hale (a commercial mauser action) is the trigger mechanism. The rear tang of the action actually sits on the trigger housing making it necessary to leave the housing inplace and devise a method of keeping it tight against the action during the bedding process. I install a pillar at the rear and hold this pillar and the trigger housing in place with a screw I made for the purpose. After bedding the screw is removed and the trigger guard and stock screw are installed. Regards, Bill.
