Is there one powder I can use for 375 H & H 300gr bullet & a 30-06 165gr bullet. I am just starting into reloading? Thanks for the help.

VVN-160, H4350, IMR-4350 & IMR-4064 springs quickly to mind although the IMR-4064 will do better with 150's in the '06 & 270 grainers in the 375. Right now I'm using 79.5 grs. of VVN-160 in the .375H&H with Hornady 300 gr. R.N.'s and 60.0 grs. of the same in the .30/06 Sprg. with 165 gr. Nosler Partitions. Both loads are consistant cloverleaf groupers and don't bounce off any game I've shot with them lately, either. There's some good combos that are a great fit in these two cartridges - I'm sure others will have some reco's also. Cheers, Number 10

I'd recommend IMR-4350, or if you prefer to drop your powder charges with less hassle, try AA-4350 or H-4350, both of which are shorter cut. An alternative would be WW-760 (or the same spec powder sold under the Hodgdon label, H-414.) This is a ball powder which meters very nicely and is very close to the same burning rate as IMR-4350. Since I haven't tried any, I won't recommend it, but RL-19 should work nicely with both of these cartridge/bullet combinations if you prefer the Alliant line of powders. Actually, any powder which works with one is likely to work nicely with the other.

Buy the manuals for the makers of the bullets you plan to load. It wouldn't hurt to also buy Lyman #49. Member: Orange Gunsite Family, NRA--Life, Varmint Hunters' Assn., ARTCA, and American Legion. It's really good stuff in the 30-06, but I've not used it in my .375H&H. LWD
