A friend wants me to reload some 5.56x45 for his AR. Anyone have a good recipe for it with
H-335 and 55gr. FMJ. Probably needs to be close to mil-spec. if that is possible. Just out of curiosity, assuming that the 5.56 is loaded much hotter, can 223 brass be loaded the same and fired in an AR. The few times I have fired his AR it appears to me that the cases are on their way out of the chamber before they even have any time to expand. These reloads will only be fired in his ARs.

The online Hodgdon data max. is 25.3 gr. H335 with the 55gr. bullet.

That's pretty close to M-193 performance.

I've loaded it heavier, but it's not worth pushing it. In fact, I'd go with 25.0 gr. and crank 'em out for your buddy.
