Went to an auction recently and got carried away buying stuff. Got some stuff at killer prices and got the "fever" and spent more than I expected. Wound up with a bottle of H4831SC instead of the regular H4831 I thought I was bidding on.
What if any are the differences between the two as I plan to use it loading for a modern 6.5x55, or 270, or 300WMg? Can I use the SC interchangeably with my recipes for the non SC?

Q. What does the SC stand for in H4831SC and how is this powder different from H4831?

A. The SC stands for Short Cut. We offer two granule lengths of H4831, the old standby and the newer H4831SC. Both powders share our H4831 data but, if you have an existing load with one version and want to switch to the other, you should back down to the listed starting load for your bullet and work back up. The reason is really pretty simple. We ask that the reloader back down every time you change lot numbers of powder and changing versions of H4831 has the same effect

They are for except for lot to lot variance the same powders.

With the Short Cut you may be able to get more powder in the case with a little case tapping or vibration. This may not be one of your needs of course.

Wow! Whatt a bargain! The only difference between the two is the length of the powdewr kernel- the SC is shorter & takes up less space in the case.......

I use them interchangeably in my 7 mm Mag, same powder charge. The SC sure goes through the measure a whole lot better than the long grain stuff. I'll be buy SC only from now on.
