Anybody out there have some loads for a 35 Whelen Ackley Improved 40 degree, for 225 and 250 gr bullets. Probably either be Nosler Part, Speer Hotcores, Sierra Game Kings or Barnes X. I also have 200 ea Hornady 250 grain Round Nose I need a load for. What percentage over a 35 Whelen can I go on average?? Just had a rifle rebarrelled for it by Stan Jackson and need some loads now.
Thanks,
choke

My own wildcat has a little more capacity but, I had excellent results with Blc2 and RL15. I have also heard a lot of people using Varget in this caliber.

Varget is THE powder for the Whelen Improved. Work up from 53 to 59 grains with the 250 Speer. I'm getting 2640 fps.

I have been useing 60.2gr of AA2520 with the 225 nosler for a mv of 2830fps average in 24 inch barrel. The book big bores by wolf publishing has some very good information of the 35 Whelen and the improved versions. Also, give sierra's question and answer line a call, they will send you out information in the mail or e-mail you some greate information.
