I just got a new set of redding dies for a 300

rum . This is the problem I am having . With

new brass they load fine but put a once shot

brass threw them and the bullet falls all the

way from the neck to the primer. I am fl sizing

on both new and once fired. What do you guys think is up ?

It sounds like your chamber is a bit over size & your dies as well. Contact Redding & ask, they will likely ask you for a fired case & give you a new die that works.

Have you checked the diameter of the expander plug? They could have put on the wrong one, and if it's over .308 the bullet will not stay in place.

Have you tried running a case through your sizer die with the expander plug removed? If the bullet will still fall through the neck then the die is dimensionally messed up. If the bullet will not fit the neck then the expander plug is oversize. I had the same problem with my Redding 300WSM die and the die was made wrong. I called them and explained the problem and they had me send them 4 fired but unsized cases and the sizer die and in about a week I recieved the four cases and a new die which worked great.

Any chance you got a bushing die and aren't using bushings?
