I just bought a box of Barnes TSX bullets and read that they recommend seating the bullet a certain distance from the lands. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks.

One way is to take a fired case that is not sized. Place the bullet in and close the bolt. The lands will push it into the case. Set your seater up to push in .050 to .070 more. There are other ways that you can find in a search on the subject. Good Luck

ted It was recently discussed on this thread. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

tedc54 Don't get too hung up on the OAL being this or that. The most important thing is what fits your mag box and then go from there. I have a deep throated 300SAUM and due to the mag box limits the 168TSX is .190 off the lands and I can put 10 bullets in a 1" hole. TSX's don't have to be close at all.
