Is anyone reloading for a .300 Arnold? What powder and bullet weights are giving you the best results? Thank you, Sam

Reloading for it, heck I hadn't even heard of it! Anyway, that said I did a quick google and see that it is an 8mm rem magnum necked down to 308. Here is a nice lefty 700 for sale: http://www.gunsinternational.c...cfm?gun_id=100108121 From the link above: Best Hunting Load: 82.5 grains VitaVhouri N165 powder, 180 grain Nosler Partition bullet, Federal 215 M Primer, 3.278” overall cartridge length. Shoots very accurate ½" to 3/4" groups with this load at 100 yards. Velocity 3200-3250 fps on 45-50 degree day at 500 ft elevation, based on my chronograph. for every hour in front of the computer you should have 3 hours outside

8mm Rem Magnum necked to .308 would make it comparable to a 300 Weatherby (without the radiused shoulders). Ken

www.ammoguide.com shows 62 loads for the 8mm RemMag. Choosing one in the bullet weight of your choice for .30-caliber should give you a place to start for the Arnold. Just reduce the load for the 8mm by 10% and start the development process...

Absolutely. If I was working up loads for a .300 Arnold, I'd be looking hard at .300 Weatherby data as a base. In fact, the two might be identical in data but would be conservative and work up from minimums for the Weatherby. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Dan Arnold has wrote a few pieces for Precision Shooting Magazine and they should be able to tell you how to get ahold of him or pass a message on. He was the owner/developer of Arnold Arms and the Arnold line of cartridges and should be able to give you some data for your 300. ------------------------------------ The trouble with the Internet is that it's replacing masturbation as a leisure activity. ~Patrick Murray "Why shouldn`t truth be stranger then fiction?
