Will be using a 150gr bullet.Has anyone had good success using this powder? Will be shooting with a M70 Winchester and a Savage Bolt.I`m choosing this powder because of ease of use and repeatability using dippers.... and the Lee Loader to work the load up.

I've had excellent success using RL-15 in the 30-06. My favorite load is 53 grs behind a 150 gr ballistic tip. I'd recommend investing in a set of scales, the lee dippers are pretty imprecise, therefore you end up with a load that's very anemic because they don't want you getting anywhere near a max load. They're pretty useless for anything other than filling the pan of a set of scales.

I'll also add that RL19 would probably be a better choice for a 30-06 with 150gr bullets.

Using an "imprecise" measuring method the advantage of RL19 is that it simply isn't possible to get too much RL19 into a 30-06 case with a 150gr bullet, because the "Max" load with the 150gr and RL19 is quoted by Nosler as being 101% of case capacity, in other words, a "compressed" load.

So theoretically atleast you could use the 30-06 case itself as a "dipper" with RL19... I don't know call me a purist, but I still prefer weighing 100% of propellant charges to 1/10gr in any of my hunting ammo.

And not that it's worth much, but RL19 was also Noslers recommended propellant for that bullet weight in the 30-06 for "accuracy" (which usually means least velocity spread.)

I shot RL15 under 150 grs Nosler BTs for quite a few years - to my full satisfaction. In fact, pretty much until I switched to heavier bullets in my .30-06 - but that is a different story.

Thanks guys for the replies.I have two sets of scales I work with ,practicing dipping a bunch before I even think about loading any, seeing just what a dipper will yeild against 2 scales.

Will be developing the load at the bench which is quite fun.Check out "45-70 and the Lee Loader" from late November on this site.

I have two presses also but developing a load at the bench is pure satisfaction on a pretty day.Haha...and when you are beating ammo together with a mallet you can get some pretty weird looks from other shooters. That is till they check out group sizes downrange.

Again thanks all for the replies. Will post pics of the rifles, groups, and recipes when finished.
