My first larger tham 8mm rifle is on the way. 9.3x62 Mauser on a 98 action. I have 250 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip bullets on hand and need loads for same. I was planning to resize 30-06 brass but have read some negatives lately. Input in this area is also appreciated.

Don't bother with the 06 cases. Despite it's appearance, the 9.3x62 is NOT based on '06 case and in fact appeared before the '06 was finalized. Anyway, the '06 case has an undersize casehead for this job - I know it can be done, but why? High quality brass from Norma and Lapua is now easily had, and it lasts a LONG time, so think of it as a good investment. Graf brass is good from what I've heard, though I do not use it myself - it is a bit cheaper than the others. I avoid S&B brass like the plague.

As for loads. Lapua brass, CCI200 primers, Re10x starting at 50gr with a 3.4" OAL (exposed cann). I've worked up to 57 gr with superb accuracy, though I haven't run them over the chrony yet. As usual, all rifles are different, so work up slowly.

For brass...either go Norma, Lapua or Graf. Don't even bother reforming .30-06.

One powder you might like in the 9.3 is Varget. 56gr and a Barnes 286 X bullet are sub moa in my CZ, will use in Zim the next 2 weeks. Reduce for the 250's and see what happens. H414,4064 and RE15 have worked well with 286's, sorry I have no data for 250's. Do yourself a favor and get the Lapua brass. Very high quality and lasts forever.You are going to love your 9.3x62.
