KBOBB - I have had a 7600 now for over 6 years and would not trade it for anything. I use a load of 53.0gr H4895 behind a 250Spt Speer. This charge also works well with the 250RN Hornady, but at a slower pace. The Speer clocks about 2460fps. Another favorite load is 57.0gr RL15 with the same bullet, which is just a tad faster in my gun. You might also try these loads with a 225SptBT Sierra and carefully work up. Good luck and good shooting.

I posted this on the med. bore forum but it may be more appropriate here.

After reading this forum regarding the 35 Whelen I bit the bullet and got one in a Rem 7600. I am trying the Hornady 250 gr RN with a starting load of 52.0 gr IMR 4064 and working up to 55.0 gr.
For you Whelen guys out there- does this sound like a reasonable starting point? Any suggestions are welcome.

Thanks

Yep. Also worth trying are 3031, Benchmark, and RL15, in that order. HTH, Dutch.

RL-15 is also a great powder to use. Question; Why RN and not Spitzers? Same bullet weight (250gr) but lots better BC. jorge
