Need styrofoam ammo boxes

I'm getting ready to start to load up about 1500 rounds of .223 for a prairie dog shoot this spring and was going to order styrofoam ammo boxes from Midway. These are formed so that the tip of the cartridge nestles in the foam in order to prevent damage. They are also inexpensive...when in stock. Midway says they will not have any more for a while as they are changing suppliers.

I can't locate anything similar anywhere else that I've checked. Anyone with any sources? Midway has them in bulk ( like 400 boxes ) but I don't need to load 20,000 rounds.

I can`t help you with the paper boxes but, if I was hauling 1500 rds of 223 I`d look at a couple military 5.56 ammo cans. The cans should offer good protection and be a little more convenant to store/carry.

MTM makes a 50 round platic box, that has little fingers that will protect the tip of your bullets, a lot more durable than styro, and if they get dirty, just throw them in the dishwasher.

Good Luck--Don

I'll check out the MTM boxes---hadn't noticed that feature. If I throw dirty ones in the dishwasher, however, the "dishwasher" will throw them back at me.

Thanks for the Link Joe.

I wish they had some for Mag Carts as well. The standard cart boxes will be nice.

Don, He may be talking about the two legged "dishwasher" throwing em' back. If he is, I know what he means Big Grin.

Reloader, I assumed so, if he has an automated dishwasher throwing them back at him, he needs to call the Maytag man! rotflmo
