I have a revolver that shoots 45 acp and 45 rimmed cartridges.
My dies are 45 acp with a taper crimp.
Can one use that same die to roll crimp in a channelure for rimmed cases?

Thanks

If it is a taper crimp dies, it would not be able to roll crimp. I prefer taper crimping above roll crimping for two reasons:
1) Accuracy is better;
2) It is not so hard on brass

I have a Kimber 45 ACP and an S&W 625. I shoot Auto Rim cases in the S&W and taper crimp them with the ACP die, and they are very accurate.

If your using Lee dies, the seating die is said to taper crimp first then turn into a roll crimp. I don't use Lee. RCBS dies, you need to buy a roll crimp die. when i had my revolver, i just taper crimped all lead bullet, same as the acp.
