I am looking for some data for H110 and the RCBS 270gr(cast 280 from WW) SAA. It is going in my Navy Arms 92 with a 24" Octagon barrel. I want to run it at about 1100 to 1200 fps. I called Hodgon but they are closed already. Any ideas where I might can find some data? Steve E.......... Steve, Steve's pages has one powder charge range of 17.2 to 19 gr of H110 for a 300 gr bullet in a rifle. Sorry, but's all I could find. As I think more about this, H110 pretty much wants to run towards upper pressures. Not sure if running your 1100 to 1200 fps is possible, advisable or safe. Do a search over on the Handloader magazine website for an artical specifically on that bullet loaded to the three common pressue levels for the 45 Colt. I have a copy on my laptop but have no way of getting it onto this machine. Great info on a great bullet. I buy mine from Montana Bullet Works.

I did look through my old Handloader Magazines and found an article where they used the 270gr RCBS SAA bullet in a variety of 45 Colt handguns and copied some of their load data. There was three different pressure load levels, it must be the same article. Looks like as close as I can get to the 1100-1200 fps is about 1400 fps with H110 without going below starting data which is alright with me (I already tried some in my rifle). Thanks for the info guys. Steve E............. NRA Patron Life Member GOA Life Member North American Hunting Club Life Member USAF Veteran
