Other than buying factory ammunition, ebay is the best option. There is one guy there that seems to be loaded with once fired brass. I don't know of anyone who sells virgin brass.

And that guy on eBay......send him an email and say, "To hell with all that bidding BS!!! How much do you want for 500 pieces sent to.....(your zip code!!) He'll get back to you and ship you a bunch!! BTDT!!! I got 500 for $100.00 shipped which was a significant lot less than his auctions were going for!!! I had thousands of 222MAG brass already but fire forming and trimming 222MAG brass is time consuming and a general PITA!!!! State that differently......resizing, THEN TRIMMING, is a PITA!!!! Give him a toot! He'll deal!! GHD

Both Hornady and Winchester have already listed it in their price sheets so it is just a matter of time. A fair guess would probably be summer.

I have certain connections which allow me to get this weird stuff when it first comes out so check my website from time to time.

Groundhog,
STOP RUINING YOUR 222 MAG BRASS.
It is worth more to someone who has that caliber than to you for making 204 Ruger.

SCR, I only did 15 pieces of my 222MAG brass for this project!!! My 222MAG is a 700 action with a 20" 40X barrel on it that everytime I take it out to the range to shoot while letting other barrels cool, makes me think, :Why the hell do I own anything besides this one?????" A sweet shooting little piece to say the least! It was also my first gun that I had any "machining" input on while being taught a bit about gunsmithing and machining! But as long as it's spitting out 40 gr Sierras at 3730 and 52 grain Sierras at 3500 and putting them into the .2's I'll be satisfied!!! I don't need to waste anymore 222MAG brass on the .204 project!!! Try 29.0 grains of AA2230 and the 40 Sierra Blitzkings (.224) in your rifle!!! See if it works!! GHD

Ok Ok, only 15 makes me feel alot better.
Just stating the obvious I guess.
222 Mag is a great caliber, don't have one personally but always had a spot in my heart for the triple deuce.
Just hold on a little while longer, for all of you with 204's.
It takes everyone a little while to catch up whenever a craze hits.

SCR, The only and I state again, ONLY reasn that te 223 was chosen over the 222Mag for the military was that the 223 becuase of the steeper sholder and short neck funtioned better in SA's than the 222MAG. Both cases were developed by an engineer named Mike Walker(I think that's the right name!) and the military chose the 223. For all the 223 shooters out there, there is a better cartidge available utilizong the same bolt face and bullets......it's known as the 222 Remington Magnum!!!! But then again if I bring this up it's liable to start an argument reminiscent of the .243Winchester vs the 6mm Remington!!! Remington wins that fight too!!! Smiler Big Grin SmilerGHD

Exactly.
The M16 was originally going to be adopted with the 222, then the government wanted more power so the 222 Rem Mag was invented.
Instead of modifying the gun to accept the 222 Mag, Remington was forced to come out with the 223 and that is what stuck.

222 Mag is superior to the 223 in every aspect, but never really caught on that well because of 223's adoption by the military.

Now I have a 20 Tactical and not a 204, no I may be missing something, but what would happen if you tried fire forming 223 brass using cream of wheat? Anyone tried it?
