Send it back, it should work better than that.

I received one for Christmas and my friends and I use it all the time. I get very repeatable results with the Lyman gauge.

Now, on the other hand, MAYBE the gun you are testing is just that bad. When I test my Jewell aftermarket triggers that I have on some rifles I just get the same reading time after time. But when I tried some of my factory triggers they were pretty darned inconsistant.

The Jewell's are set at 6 ounces and read the same just darned near every time. (The Jewell's are used for varminting and silhouette competition.) The factory triggers might read 40 ounces one time then 48 the next then 41 the next then 51 the next. They were light enough for hunting but just plain inconsistant. They made a quick trip to a gunsmith for a tuneup. They are not much lighter now, but they are SO much more precise.

Try the gauge out on a couple of different rifles. But, I can tell you mine works just fine.

Thanks RF, I have about 16 rifles and it offers poor readings on all. I know a few of them have good triggers, some of them are probably not that good, but I can't get anything near consistent with it, 6 oz. on one try and then 2 lbs 5 oz. on the next and then 4 lbs. then maybe 1 lb. 1 oz. on the next. I think it is time to send it back,

Regards-Don.

Man, that is awfull, I would surely send it back.

I guess in this day of mass production we are just going to get a bad product from time to time.
