Lets first determine your ultimate targets.

1. Holes in paper
2. Wild gsme.
3. People

You're definite up, on top of your game, with Hornady and Hodgdon

Will be both home personal protection and plinker. I have a recipe for 15gr of H110 topped with a 110 gr Speer TMJ. Primer is a CCI.

110 grain FMJ and 15 grains of IMR4227. 1,900 fps matches the military loading.

Interesting. I also noticed that H4227 left the barrel dirty when shooting my 44 mag. Thanks for the tip.

All the Mi Carbines I ever had were good for going "BANG" and that's about it. I used to hear stories from my old sergeants who served in Korea about shooting Chinese with them; they would just keep yelling and running toward the US positions. They had to be hit with an M1 or M1919 before they would fall. The thick padded jackets would act as bullet proof vests so they would not penetrate well. But they are fun guns.
