I don't have a VihtaVouri manual but I have several lbs of VV N-135 sitting here and wondered if anyone uses this powder in a .260 rem. On the burning rate charts it's right handy varget and IMR-4064.If so what bullet weights did you use with it and what were your starting loads. If you have a manual do they list it as a powder suitable for the .260. aka. bushrat

VVN135 is too fast for common usage in the 260. If you like reduced muzzle blast and flash, 100gr or lighter bullets then you could put together a nice load which might make a 100gr bullet go 2,800fps? I have a 6.5x55 and a 6.5x57R and don't use anything faster than VVN150. The 260 is a little less capacity but even so 135 is too fast. BTW in the 6.5x55 and 6.5x57R Hornady loads, IMR4064 seems to mimic VVN150 in charge weight regardless of where it appears in the burning tables

would be an excellent powder to try in a .204 though. Anything worth doing is worth doing right the first time.

You might get some use out of it w/ the 85gr Sierra, but it is really too fast. The burn rate is actually closer to H4895, try 37gr & work up (usual discalimer about using any load info. work up, watch pressure signs, etc). I use vv150 w/ the 85gr Sierra, it's amazingly accurate, sd in the 6-7fps range at almost 3500fps. I just wish the powder was cheaper & more available. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

I use it in my 6mmBR Norma, have plenty of it and just noticed on one of the burnrate charts it was next to 4064 which I've used with some success with light bullets in my .260. It didn't make much sense that a powder suitable for the 6BR and light bullets would also work in the 260 but thought I would see if anyone else had tried it. Still might try a few loads for shits and giggles, and see what happens. aka. bushrat

You should be fine, just 100fps or so less vel. before you hit the pressure wall. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!
