I'm sure they moved fast. As I understand it, the primer mfg.s are required by contract to supply the commercial ammo mfg. before selling primers to the general public + since the ammo mfg. can't keep up with sales, there goes the private sector of sales.

Never mistake motion for action.

I watch about 4 hunting forums. On all of them I have seen comments that powder/bullets/ammo are back in stock at various places - even if temporarily. This should be enough evidence that the problem is on the buyer’s side (hoarding) , not production. Luckily I’ve been able to act quick and get both powder and bullets. The trick here is putting money where the mouth is, which a lot of moaners don’t like to do.

Way back in spring of '11 I was going to Mo.
and drove right by Powder Valley. So I stopped in.

Bought 11 jugs of various powders and All the CCI SmR's they had. 20,000. Asked for 25,000 of each size. "sorry, all the cci's we have are 20,000 SmR's" "bring 'em out I'll take 'em all".

I only shoot CCI's, didn't ask and they didn't say if other brands were in stock.

I got these for $9/1000, powders were $80-90/8lbs. I'd of left $2500 there real easy if they'd had primers on hand.
As it wasn't, all they got was about $900.

Now they don't have any powder or primers at all. Wonder how long they can stay in business without anything in stock.

Powder Valley is where a lot of the notifications come from. I bought 8lbs of Big Game and a pound of 760 from them 3 weeks ago.

They had Fed 210 primers yesterday at 1pm central time.

As of this post they have E3 and a couple Norma powders in stock.
