I have ordered a custom set of loading dies for my new 500 Jeffery and I was wondering if the resizing die expander ball was slightly undersized to allow a stronger grip on the bullet, would it eleminate the need for crimping? It is hard to find a stab crimper for a Jeffery. square shooter | ||

I doubt that one can get enough neck tension to hold a 500 Jeffery.....that's some serious recoil and if it's in a double rifle it's risking pulling the bullets out of the case in a few shots. I'd think crimping is the norm always in these cases. If the use is in a bolt rifle the case in the magazine might have the bullet shoved very deep into the case and provide a "nonnormal" shot. /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."
