I'm starting to work up a new 270 Win. load for whitetail, and I'm considering using either the Nosler Accubond or the Hornady Interbond and I'm curious about whether one performs better than the other, both from an accuracy and terminal ballistics standpoint. Does anyone have any head-to-head comparison experience with these two bullets?

Apples and oranges The Accubond is designed to lose the front part, the petals then fold down against the shank and the remainder (~70%) keeps going for maximum penetration. Much like the Partition but with better ballistic coefficient. The Interbond is designed to open to a full mushroom and retain it weight (~95%), much like the Swift A Frame, Trophy Bonded Bear Claw and Scirrocco. The penetration is less because that large frontal area after expansion will impede penetration. The Accubond is accurate in my rifles. I have not tried the Interbond. The one deer I shot this year with a 200 gr Accubond out of a 30-06 was DRT (understandably) and the exit hole was large enough that if the deer had been able to run it would have been easy to track. ____________________________________ There are those who would misteach us that to stick in a rut is consistency - and a virtue, and that to climb out of the rut is inconsistency - and a vice. - Mark Twain | Chinese Proverb: When someone shares something of value with you and you benefit from it, you have a moral obligation to share it with others. ___________________________________

I only have used Accubonds. They shoot well in my rifles. BobC of this forum has had great success with Accubonds in his 375 H&H on plains game in Africa. In your 270 they should be awesome on deer. I'm like the others in that I have only shot one of the bullets and it is the Interbond. It is the first bullet I have ever used that dropped 300-400 lb hogs instantly from a body hits. Bullet performance is perfect and accuracy is amazing in my rifles. My suggestion would be to buy a box of each and use the one that is most accurate in your rifle as both bullets will work very well.

Amen to that! I tried both in my .375s, and couldn't get the 300gr. roundnose Hdy. Interbond to shoot worth a hoot - nowhere near as well as the 300 gr. Interlock. I also tried the 260 gr. Nosler Accubonds, and found them to be extremely accurate with a variety of loads. Then I tried Barnes TSXs, and pretty well quit using everyting else.....

For deer either is fine as both are overkill on small game such as deer. I, personally, believe the best is still the old Hornady interlock in 140 or 150 grains! /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// "Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." Have not used the Accubond on game yet, but I know they are plenty accurate in 7mm and .30 cal. LLS
