Mid Way has some 250 grain Woodleigh bullets on sale so I ordered some for my 338 Hawk. What powders have you tried with the 250s? What velocities?

Thanks

I shoot a std. .338-06 (if there is such a thing). I like H4350, IMR4350 & RL19. In my 22 1/2" bbl. vel. run about 2450fps w/ 1moa accuracy. The .338-06 in any flavoe is a great med. range big game round.

50 grains IMR 4064, 2500 fps

60 grains H 380, 2650 fps

62.5 grains H 380, 2725 fps

work up to the last load listed. Never had pressure problems, but I know it will pop primers at 63 grains. I use a Hornady 250 grain Round Nose seated to the cannelure, with Winchester 30/06 brass necked up.

Primer is a CCI Large Rifle or a Federal 210 primer. Have not used mag primers.

Rifle has a 24 inch barrel, in a Winchester Model 70 action.

Cheers and Good shooting

When a .5gr increase pops primers, you have pressure problems.
