Have not looked at any new propellants in the last 5yrs. Even though I have found many others successful, I have found Varget to be my best all around powder in the .308 (and variants). Is there anything new out there I should think about that are as good with temperature insensitivity and metering before I purchase the next batch?

There is no better line of powders for consistency in all weather. It's made in Finland where they have a little bit of experience with temperature extremes. If you look at the euipment/component list in the match results section of PS magazine, you see it listed more often than not after the names of the top shooters.

You know I have been bouncing around this forum looking at the same thing with out asking the direct question. I merely have been asking what everyone likes.
I agree on Varget I use it in my 30-06 and mostly in my 6.5X55. I am now trying out H110 for my M1 Carbine. If you look at the threads in reloading called:
My favorite new powder - Hybrid V100
Most versatile Powder in your opinion?
Accurate arms powders.
HODGTON AND IMR POWDERS

These should help get started, they are on the first 2 pages of the reloading thread. There are more but this is a good start. The 2 last ones listed should be the most help.
Good Luck!

Most large reloading suppliers handle VihtaVuori powders. 308 based cartridges do well with N135, N140, and N540.
Hope this helps
