Just use a Partition and be done with. At normal hunting ranges, boattails and plastic tips don't mean a thing.

very expensive bullets. I believe some of the bullets half the price of those are just as affective.

I used a 180 Gr 30 Cal Sciracco in my 300WSM over 68.5 gr of RL 19 this weekend on a 110 lb deer. With a simple broad side shot the bullet failed to exit thru the sholder on the back side. I recoved the jacket fully expanded flat to the boat tail and was missing its lead just under the skin. Two sholder sould not stop a 180 Grain bullet.

Anyone else have simular problems wiht Sciracco Bullets?

I want a good BC and penitration. What should I Use?

the Partition Type Bullets with thier blunt tips slow down too fast.

The Scirocco performed as designed.

The partition will penetrate enough to satisfy your demands.

The Triple Shock is the ticket.

How far away? BTW, to me that sounds like outstanding bullet performance. Thats what I get and want from my 308 150PP at 2750fps. capt david

Maybe tracers would be better, you could tell at a distance if it went all the way through.

Of course driving those bullets at those velocities will force instant and explosive results and that is contrary to penetration....

If you want to drive bullets that fast then you MUST use a "premium bullet" such as the Swift A frame, Nosler partition, Northfork or a monolithic....

When will the shooting public understand with these hi-vel magnums you are inviting bullet problems without using the right bullets...

I think you should go to FMJs . That oughta give you the penetration you want.

The WT was 225 yrds out down a pipeline. Ive got the 30-06 and a 7mag and thy have workded for years without a failure. The new Savage BVSS 12 in 300 wsm is a 200 yard head shot gun for hogs. I shot the spike in the sholder with the 180 Gr Scirocco just to see what it would do. I had use a 150 gr on the last dear and it ate way too much meat.

So what we have here is those that shot game at some distance had perfect bullet function, those that shot at hi vel had problems...Just like one should expect...

These bullet do their best work in calibers at 2700 FPS MV...SWift A frames work at the faster velocity, just like the company intended for them to work, that is why they came out with the Sirocco..for light game at slower velocity.

Switch to the 200 AccuBond. It'll give you an exit in that situation.
