I love my 9.3x62 and for >20 years have had good results with Varget, RL15, and Norma 203B. I have been unable to find these powders for sale for 2-3 years. Anyone have good results with 250-grain and 286-grain bullets with other powders? Many thanks.

I find AR2209 (H4350) a handy powder for the 9.3x62 and 338WM. From what we can get out here at the moment, it seems to be the most generally useful powder with mid-weight bullets like the 286-grain 9.3.

H380 is best so far, followed closely by BalC2, H380 and RL-17

I liked my last test with CFE-223, great velocity and I will be testing RL-16 as it performed great in my 270 and 30-06..

The 9.3x62 isn't picky and it will cook with the right powder and shoot as flat as the 30-06 with a 180 gr bullet with a 250 or 286 gr. on my 400 yard range target.. within two or three inches drop, and that ain't much..My wiggle is more than that these days. rotflmo

I just checked the Ramshot reloading guide and there is no data at all for the 9.3x62. Do you have load data for Big Game in the 9.3x62 and examples of the "hubba hubba" velocities attained? Many thanks.

With the standard warnings in force - I use 63 gr in Lapua brass with a North Fork 286 for 2505-2510 fps. That's on two chronos. Barrel is a smidge over 25". I have shot up to 65 gr.

I got my info from John Barnesness.

Powder is starting to show up, I just bought 2 lbs of RL-15, 2 lbs of RL-1919, 1 lb of VArget. 1 lb of CFE-223,, got there late!! but is the first Alliant to show up in two years.

CFE-223 and RL-17 works great in my 9,3x62

Agreed. I have all manner of loads using H4895, Varget, RL-15, RL-17, & H4350.

Just haven't gotten around to using Big Game yet.

Thank you very much for the 9.3x62 reloading data with Big Game powder. I finally found some Big Game and have been able to try it. I started at 60 grains and worked up to your recommended 63 grains with a 286-grain bullet which gave the best accuracy and lowest standard deviation. Unfortunately, MV was only 2375 fps or 10 fps slower than my favorite load of Norma 203B. Barrel length is 22". Guess there is no magical powder that will turn my rifle into a 9.3x64. Anyway, I'm pleased with Big Game and am looking forward to trying it in other cartridges. Roger

You can get to 2400 fps with a 286 Nosler partition and barely 2600 fps with a 250 gr. Accubond at around 59000 to 60.000 PSI in a good Mauser or mod 70 give or take 100FPS depending on our gun and your ability. My cases last for 8 to 10 or more reloading's...Best reloading information Ive found in AFRICAN DANGEROUS GAME CARTRIDGES by Pierre van der Walt..from the US and foreign countries, pages and pages of reload data.
