I have always bought my brass polish and media but was curious as to any home receipes that have worked for any of the forum members.

The polish I have used was always bought from Midway Usa.
I have used crushed walnut and ground corn husk as the media which I have purchased from various suppliers

I add an occassional capful of Turtle Wax (or whatever is cheapest at AutoZone) to ground corncob.

I buy my corncob and walnut media from the pet store. They use it in reptile cages. 25# for $12.

For really ugly, tarnished brass, I use 1 pint water, 1/4 cup white vineger with a good squirt of liquid dish soap (pick your brand) and tumble it in a rock tumbler for about 6 to 8 hours. Rinse well, agitating well, for several minutes. Looks new. I deprime first and clean the primer pocket to insure it's like new. You can also run it for an hour or so after in a vibratory tumbler to insure no vineger is left on the cases.

After loading I'll run them for about 10 to 20 minutes in a vibratory tumbler to remove any case lube or finger prints. DO NOT tumble them in a rotary tumbler after loading!

Regards,

Eric
