I'm pretty new to reloading and have a seating depth ?. If I find that my rifle shoots the best groups with certain bullets seated .05 off the rifling, does that mean that it prefers that amount of jump for all bullets? Or will that just be a good starting point but will need to be adjusted along with the charge? For instance, if it shoots half inch groups with 62 gr tsx, should I start load development for the 60 gr vmax .05 off the lands and work up the charges or do all the variables start over?

No. But it's not likely to be far off the mark for other loads.

For some reason the TTSX of Barnes need a gap of .050 to start with. From this point you can go (with differences of .010) to .030 and .080 jump to get your optimal accuracy.
Most other bullets need a jump of .010 to .050 to get the best results.
For a special load development, go to http://www.bergerbullets.com/I...ion/Tech%20Info.html and read their recommandations for the VLD bullets. That could work for other bullets too. It's an eye opener.
