Does anyone know of a website, or a thread that spells out the specifications of the various cartridges that the US military uses: 45 ACP, 9mm, 7.62 x 51 (both MG ammo and sniper ammo), .223 (55 grain FMJBT M-193, 62 grain green tip, 77 grain HPBT Mod-0, Mod-1, etc.). Thanks, I'm doing research and these specs would be a great help. JCN

Thanks Steve, Allready have the last several editions. Looking for more detailed official Mil Spec documents/timelines. Have a copy of the Ammunition Specialist's Field Manual on order, but want to get a jump on the research. Also looking for pressure specs. Will correlate that with strain gauge time/pressure curves from fixed breech, semi, and fully automatic weapons (Springfield, Garand, M1A/M-14, M-16A2, M-4, M249, M240, Barret) with both standard muzzle configurations, and suppressed. Should eat up a lot of free time for the next six months. Do you have anything along those lines? This is all open source information. I'm sure that there are web sights devoted to this type of stuff. JCN

Take a look at Army Ammunition Data Sheets - TM 43-0001-27 at this link. http://www.biggerhammer.net/manuals/ I believe the data from COTW is from this manual. Follow the user name and password instrutions on the page.

Doesn't have the data set on M262 Mk0 or Mk1 (77 grain HPBT without or with cannelure), M118LR (175 grain HPBT for sniper ops), or the Raufoss Round. Also looking for time pressure curves. I should have been more specific. It (COTW) is a good place to start (having the official nomenclature narrows the search engines job considerably). Thanks to all. JCN
